As China and Germany are both major countries with global influence, stepping up dialogue and cooperation between the two sides will inject more stability and certainty into a turbulent world, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang said on Wednesday.
The main purpose of his visit is to prepare for the upcoming seventh round of China-Germany intergovernmental consultation, he added, noting that China looks forward to working with Germany to push for fruitful results in the consultation.
Qin made the remarks during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.
For his part, Scholz echoed that Germany is ready to work with China to push for positive results of the consultation, adding that Germany is willing to strengthen communication with China on major issues like the Ukraine crisis.
Qin also elaborated on China's position on the Ukrainian issue, stressing that China's consistent position is to facilitate talks for peace, and efforts are needed to stop the conflict as soon as possible.
