David Monyae, associate professor and co-director of the University of Johannesburg's Center for Africa-China Studies, said the recent U.S.-South Korea defense agreement against the DPRK will heighten tensions in Northeast Asia. Countries in the region should be wary of the potential security risks posed by South Korean and U.S. foreign and defense policies.
