China and Ecuador on Thursday signed a bilateral free trade agreement, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced.

Gustavo Caseres, president of the Ecuador-China Chamber of Commerce, believes that the signing of this agreement will be beneficial in the medium to long term. He also noted that China has been Ecuador's main trading partner since last year and has been a major source of imports for Ecuador for the past five years.
