China hopes that the EU will cherish China-EU mutual trust and cooperation, act prudently, and not set a bad precedent, said a spokesperson from China's Ministry of Commerce at a press conference on Thursday in response to the EU's proposal to sanction seven Chinese companies.
"We firmly oppose unilateral sanctions against China that have no basis in international law and are not authorized by the UN Security Council," the spokesperson said.
