Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Thursday visited the city of Cangzhou in north China's Hebei Province.
Xi went to a wheat field where he learned about the cultivation of crops tolerant of drought and alkalinity.
He also visited a coal terminal at Huanghua Port to learn about its operation and development planning. The port has won multiple honors, including "Asia-Pacific Green Port" and "China Environmental Excellence Award."
The Chinese leader went to Cangzhou following Wednesday's inspection tour to the Xiongan New Area, which was established in 2017 as part of efforts to advance the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
