Here are a few stories from around Asia you may have missed this week.

At least 22 people including children died when an overcrowded double-decker tourist boat capsized in an estuary in southern India on May 7. Some passengers managed to jump off and swim to safety when the converted fishing vessel overturned in the waterway near the town of Tanur in Kerala state. Five people, including the driver, have been arrested so far according to local police officials.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said on May 8 that the reopening process of the Iranian diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia is in its final stage. Making the remarks at a press conference in Tehran, Nasser Kanaani said progress has been made in preparing for the resumption of Iranian diplomatic missions' operations in Saudi Arabia. 

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested in Islamabad on Tuesday. He was taken into custody by a paramilitary force from outside the Islamabad High Court.

Tianzhou-6 cargo spacecraft completed its status configuration upon entering orbit and docked with the aft port of China's space station's Tianhe core module at 5:16 a.m. Beijing Time on May 11, according to China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).  Following the successful rendezvous and docking, the Tianzhou-6 and China Space Station have entered the integrated flight phase.

South Korean authorities have, this week, ordered the culling of several hundred cattle and implemented biosecurity measures after confirming cases of foot and mouth disease in farms in a central province, the Ministry of Agriculture said. The cases mark the first confirmed outbreak since January 2019. The current outbreak is said to be in three farms in Cheongju in North Chungcheong province, south of the capital Seoul, the ministry said.
