Nestled in the forests of the Tianshan Mountains, Lake Kaindy has a sunken forest that was created by an earthquake in 1911. The freshwater lake is home to an array of fir trees. When the earthquake hit, it created a natural dam that was slowly filled with rainwater over the years, leaving the trees that were damaged during the earthquake submerged in water – luring many divers to explore the surreal underwater world that lies below the surface.
