China commends the announcement by Germany and the European Union of not seeking to decouple from China. Dr. Vasilis Trigkas, a post-doctoral teaching fellow at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University, said that economic sovereignty doesn't mean self-reliance, and that EU could thrive only in the context of global development.
