Starting April 13, one passenger train has been operating daily from Kunming, the capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, directly to the capital of Laos, Vientiane, and another from Vientiane to Kunming. The railway handled over 10,000 cross-border passenger trips in its opening month as of May 13, injecting fresh impetus into economic and trade exchanges between the countries and furthering the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
