The Office of the Earthquake Relief Headquarters of the State Council, Ministry of Emergency Management, and the local government of Yunnan have joined forces to conduct the "Emergency Mission 2023" air-ground joint rescue exercises for earthquake disasters. The drills -- which begin on Tuesday, May 16th -- are being held in the alpine and valley areas in Lijiang city and a few other places. The main exercise field is set up in Lijiang, while two sub-fields are in Dali and Zhaotong county. The drills highlight air-ground integrated rescue operations, focusing on the implementation of disaster emergency networks and preparation. They seek to continuously enhance the emergency awareness and capacity of Chinese response forces, and build a people's defense line for disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief.
