China and five central Asian countries aim to boost cooperation in a variety of fields. In 2022, China and the five Central Asia countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan launched the Data Security Cooperation Initiative. Energy is another key area of cooperation. The six countries also made strides in agricultural technology.
