Located in the Xiongan New Area in north China's Hebei Province, Baiyangdian Lake is the largest freshwater lake in north China. Years of pollution and drought had nearly dried it up. But thanks to the ecological restoration that was part of the new area's development, older locals are happy to see that the clear and lucid waters they remember from their youth have now returned.
