At least six people were killed, and an unspecified number were unaccounted for after a blaze broke out overnight at a four-story hostel building in downtown Wellington, capital of New Zealand, according to Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

The department was called to the Loafers Lodge hostel on Adelaide Road around 12:30 a.m. local time on May 16 after a fire started on the top floor of the building.
