Cyclone Mocha leaves swathe of damage in Myanmar

Rescue workers evacuated about 1,000 people trapped by seawater after a powerful cyclone injured hundreds and cut off communications. The death toll from this disaster in Myanmar has risen to 41. Strong winds injured more than 700 of the approximately 20,000 people who had sought refuge in more stable buildings in the highlands of Sittwe city. The State Administrative Council declared a state of disaster for 17 municipalities in the Rakhine state.
