Jordanian foreign ministry on Monday condemned the storming of its embassy in Sudanese capital Khartoum.

The ministry said in a statement that Jordan rejects any form of violence and sabotage, especially acts that violate diplomatic establishments.

It stressed the importance of upholding the principles of international law and complying with relevant international agreements, notably the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Sinan Majali, the ministry's spokesperson, said the embassy's staff are safe as they have evacuated to Port Sudan, according to local Ammon News Agency. He added that the ministry is following up closely on the attack.
