Calgary's air quality falls as wildfires rage in western Canada

Calgary, the largest city in Alberta, received a special weather alert, warning residents of poor air quality and reduced visibility due to wildfires. The Canadian environmental department advised people to avoid strenuous outdoor activities. According to the provincial government, there are about 90 active wildfires in Alberta, 23 of which are out of control. Smoke from the wildfires in western Canada has reportedly spread across much of the country.
