The ancient Tea Horse Road was a tea trade route mainly through the mountains of Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet in years gone by. Back then, people in the Sichuan and Yunnan provinces traveled with horses to exchange tea and products with people in Tibet. The Yunnan-Tibet Tea Horse Road served as an important section of the route; some products were even exported from Tibet to India and Nepal.
