The China-Central Asia Summit opened today (May 18). Over the years, the energy cooperation between China and Central Asian countries has borne fruit. The Sirdarya Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Project, contracted by China Energy International Group, will be the largest CCGT independent power plant in Central Asia upon completion. This project is significant for Uzbekistan, in that it helps adjust its energy structure and enhance its electricity capacity, as well as improving the livelihood of local people by offering plenty of job opportunities.
