China is willing to carry out cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all dimensions, and contribute to the development and vitalization of both countries, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Thursday.

Xi made the remarks when he held talks in Xi'an with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, who is in China for the China-Central Asia Summit and a state visit.

Xi recalled their two meetings last year which produced important common understandings on China-Kyrgyzstan relations and cooperation in various areas. He noted that these common understandings are being implemented effectively, providing strong momentum for the bilateral relations.

Noting that the China-Kyrgyzstan relationship has traveled a 31-year journey, Xi said China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to build a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future of good-neighborliness and shared prosperity.

Xi stressed that China and Kyrgyzstan should strengthen mutual support, especially support on issues concerning their respective core interests. The two countries should be good friends with mutual trust and reliance, he added.

He urged both sides to advance pragmatic cooperation in various fields with joint high-quality development of the Belt and Road, enhance the level of economic and trade cooperation, and advance cooperation on livelihood project construction, poverty alleviation, and rural revitalization.

He called for deepening cooperation on connectivity and starting the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway at an early date.

China is willing to increase the import of quality agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan and encourage more Chinese companies to invest and do business in Kyrgyzstan, Xi said.

He said the two sides should expand people-to-people exchanges to build a solid social and public opinion foundation for the development of relations between the two countries, as well as strengthen security cooperation to provide a safe and sound environment for jointly advancing Belt and Road cooperation and the development of the two countries.

Japarov said the China-Kyrgyzstan relationship is now at its best juncture in history, adding that Kyrgyzstan firmly supports China's position on issues related to Taiwan, Xinjiang, Hong Kong and other core interests.

Kyrgyzstan supports the Global Security Initiative and the Global Development Initiative, and stands ready to work with China to jointly boost the security and development of the two countries and the region, he said.

The Kyrgyz side will do its utmost to provide a safe and sound investment environment for Chinese enterprises and continue to promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, he added.

Noting that the two countries have upgraded the bilateral relations to comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era and agreed to build a Kyrgyzstan-China community of shared future, he said this will promote the all-round mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

"I am looking forward to the upcoming China-Central Asia Summit and would like to work with the Chinese side to make it a new platform for forging closer bilateral and regional cooperation between Central Asian countries and China," Japarov said.

After the talks, the two presidents signed a joint declaration on elevating the bilateral relationship and witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation documents in fields such as economy, trade, industrial development and investment, customs, agriculture and culture.
