The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) has made China's infrastructure smarter and safer, with its high-precision location capability bringing immense benefits to different economic sectors, according to the White Paper on the Development of China's Satellite Navigation and Location Services Industry, which was released on Thursday.
By the end of 2022, China had installed over 2,000 BeiDou ground-based augmentation reference stations, providing high-precision location services that allow for autonomous inspection by drones, substation robot inspection and tower monitoring.
