China is willing to continue communication with Poland on the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis and supports the establishment of a balanced, effective and sustainable European security architecture that provides a lasting guarantee for peace in Europe, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui said on Friday.
Li made the remarks when meeting with Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Wojciech Gerwel in Warsaw.
It is not in the interests of all parties to expand and prolong the Ukraine crisis, Li said, adding that China calls for the resumption of peace talks.
Li reiterated China's stance on the crisis, which is to facilitate peace talks.
On the basis of the paper stating its position on the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis released by China, Li said China will strengthen exchanges with all parties and gradually accumulate consensus to lay a solid foundation for the ceasefire and cessation of the crisis.
China and Poland share traditional friendship, Li said, calling for joint efforts to push forward bilateral relations to a new level on the basis of mutual respect, equality and win-win results.
Gerwel said Poland will work with China to advance bilateral relations.
Hailing China's constructive role in international affairs as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, he said the Polish side hopes China will continue to play a positive role in the crisis and promote the early easing of the current tensions to realize peace at an early date.
