Chengdu Europe Culture Season kicked off on May 18 with a program created to encourage cultural exchanges between the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu and Europe. NASMA, a band from Madrid, and Chengdu artists brought flamenco dancing and Spanish folk music to local audiences on the opening night.
Spain is the guest of honor during this year's Culture Season, and the Spanish embassy and consulates in China will bring to Chengdu a taste of Spanish culture through flamenco dancing, Spanish folk music, art exhibitions and other activities.
More than 10 embassies and consulates representing European countries are joining the city of Chengdu, featuring art and culture through exhibitions, concerts, movie screenings and a football carnival, to promote art exchanges and cultural dialogue.
