The UK on Friday announced a new wave of sanctions against Russia, which added 86 new designations and made three revocations (de-listings) under the Russia sanctions regime.

The designations came after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced new import bans on Russian diamonds and metals at the G7 summit in Japan on Friday.

Earlier in the day, the UK announced a ban on Russian diamonds, an industry worth $4 billion in exports in 2021, as well as imports of Russian-origin copper, aluminium and nickel.
