Economists emphasize historic significance of China-Central Asia Summit

The first-ever China-Central Asia Summit was successfully held in Xi'an on May 19, marking the first gathering of the kind since China and the five Central Asian countries established diplomatic relations 31 years ago. Kazakh economist Kassymkhan Kapparov and Yelena Kalyuzhnova both highlight the historical significance of this summit, not only for China and Central Asia but also for global economy, security, and social issues. Chinese analyst Rong Ying points out that cooperation with China can bring opportunities for the region which has been searching for its own development path.
