Beijing has hit back at the G7 communique, accusing it of interfering in China's internal affairs including the Taiwan issue. The communique and related documents show G7's professed opposition to any unilateral attempts to change the status quo and claims about "economic coercion" that allude to China. Liu Mingli, a research professor at the European Institute of the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, says the G7's position does not help peaceful development of the region.
