Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano rumbled to life overnight on May 19, emitting water vapor, gas and ash, according to local authorities. Located 72 kilometers southeast of Mexico City, it is one of the world's most active volcanoes. It is currently maintaining a Yellow Phase 2 caution alert, meaning that people must stay outside a 12-kilometer radius from the crater.
