The breeding season of sea turtles is between April and October every year. Female turtles will go ashore to their birthplace to spawn. A worker at the turtle protection center on Beidao Island used infrared cameras to record a sea turtle laying eggs in Sansha City, south China's Hainan Province. It is believed to be a young adult green sea turtle, which is under first-class national protection in China. This turtle eventually laid 53 eggs.
