BizDataDive: Declining economic weight of G7 countries
CGTN

The annual G7 Summit was held from May 19 to 21 this year. When it was created, the G7, often dubbed as a "rich man's club", was made up of the world's most developed economies. In recent years, however, as the global political and economic landscape shifts, the economic power of emerging markets and developing economies, including China, is growing rapidly, while the G7 has been in decline. This is evidenced by its waning share in global gross domestic output (GDP) and declining contribution to global growth overall. We've put together some figures to capture this trend.
