Chelsea are offering 80 million euros (about $86.4 million) to acquire Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, according to ESPN.

When Juventus paid 81.6 million euros (about $88.2 million) to land Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January 2022, he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with "The Old Lady." He has scored 23 goals and six assists in 62 appearances.

ESPN revealed that Vlahovic is not happy in Juventus, partly because of manager Massimiliano Allegri's defensive approach, and partly due to the club's uncertainty of securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Juventus lost 15 points for false accounting in January, and then had that penalty lifted in April. They are currently second on the Serie A's standings table with three games to go, one point above third-ranking Lazio and three points ahead of fourth Inter Milan, both of which are two more games to play.

Though top four teams of Serie A will be qualified for the Champions League, Juventus' false accounting case has been referred back to the Italian Football Federation's (FIGC's) appeals court. The club won't know if they will appear in the Champions League next season until the court makes the decision.

Chelsea expressed their interest in Vlahovic when he was still with Fiorentina. The club told their incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino that they will sign a top No. 9 striker, for which Vlahovic can make a perfect fit.

Nonetheless, Chelsea will not only have to compete with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid for Vlahovic, they will also need to off-load some players from their first-team squad which already has 31 members.
