Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang Tuesday met in Beijing with Erica Muhl, president of Berklee College of Music.
"The artistic exchanges between China and the U.S. enjoy great potential," Qin said.
Qin added that he hopes Berklee College of Music will serve as a bridge for China-U.S. artistic exchanges, a bond between Chinese and American youth and a window of correct understanding between the two countries, as well as make greater contributions to deepening the cultural exchanges between China and the U.S. and promoting the understanding and friendship between the two peoples, especially the youth.
Muhl said China not only has a long history and cultural tradition but also demonstrates a development level of modernization. Berklee is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China and serve as a bridge and bond between the U.S. and China.
