China's first intelligent operation and maintenance system for heavy-haul trains was launched on May 24. It has been applied on the Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway, one of the major heavy-haul railways for China's west-to-east coal transportation program. It is expected to elevate the overall operational quality of such railway infrastructure in China by more than 20 percent. The new platform can monitor the train's operation status in real-time, allowing maintenance staff to check components and replace faulty parts more efficiently and in large batches.
