The Japanese government announced the decision to discharge nuclear-contaminated water into the sea in 2021, and local people have held more than 30 rallies against the discharge.

"I hope the whole world will oppose it. They must not discharge nuclear-contaminated water into the sea and pollute the oceans," said Sumio Konno, a Fukushima resident in Japan.
