South Korea declared space rocket Nuri's launch a success on Thursday, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing the country's science minister.

Nuri's satellite made communication with South Korea's King Sejong Station in Antarctica, the report said.

South Korea launched its homegrown space rocket Nuri on Thursday afternoon, taking eight practical satellites into orbit.
