Beijing's Zhongguancun, often referred to as "China's Silicon Valley," is set to host the 2023 Zhongguancun Forum. The event, commencing on Thursday evening, will unveil a remarkable array of cutting-edge sci-tech achievements and research reports.
Since its inception in 2007, the Zhongguancun Forum has evolved into a vital international platform for China's active engagement in global scientific and technological innovation, as well as its extensive participation in global science and technology governance, according to Wu Zhaohui, vice minister of Science and Technology.
Wu highlighted the forum's pivotal role in advancing Beijing's position as an international hub for scientific and technological innovation, fostering high-quality development, and deepening international cooperation in science and technology.
The exhibition area, themed "Frontier," promises to captivate attendees with a larger number of participants and a strong focus on innovation. Encompassing a vast expanse of 27,000 square meters, the area will unite over 650 exhibitors from both domestic and international backgrounds.
Within the robotics exhibition area, visitors will immerse themselves in complete product ecosystems featuring core technologies and components such as chips, sensors and multifunctional robots.
Additionally, the metaverse exhibition area will offer captivating and interactive experiences, integrating virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), wireless motion capture and physical model engagements.
The forum's internationalization has been elevated, with increased invitations extended to renowned international scientific and technological organizations. Distinguished participants like the World Intellectual Property Organization will host 13 parallel forums, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives.
Anticipation runs high as guests from various sectors prepare to converge in Beijing for exchanges and consensus-building. The forum seeks to synergize collective wisdom to bolster international cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, ultimately making substantial contributions to global economic prosperity, said the vice minister.
The forum will run to May 30.
