China's first intelligent operation and maintenance system for heavy-haul trains has been launched in north China's Shuozhou City. The system will elevate the overall operation quality of railway infrastructure in China by more than 20 percent. It was first used on the Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway, one of the major heavy-haul railways for China's west-to-east coal transportation program. The new smart and automatic platform can monitor the operation status of railways and freight trains in real time, allowing maintenance service staff to check on components and replace faulty parts more efficiently and in large batches.
