In September 2022, Ciqikou Ancient Town received the distinction of being designated a national "Intangible Cultural Heritage Tourism Area." This accolade has enticed even more visitors to experience the captivating charm of the town.

Located at No. 76 Hengjie Street in Ciqikou, Bao Lun Temple was constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It is one of the most revered Buddhist temples in Chongqing. Despite enduring numerous hardships throughout its existence, the main hall and the primary Buddha statue of Shakyamuni Buddha have been meticulously preserved.

No discussion of Ciqikou Ancient Town would be complete without mentioning its renowned local delicacy – the "mahua" snack. Originating in the late Qing Dynasty, this twisted dough confection gained widespread acclaim due to its distinctive flavor.
