Relict gulls (larus relictus) are medium-sized gulls classified as "vulnerable" on the IUCN Red List. The population is estimated to be around 10,000 around the globe. In China, relict gulls are under first-class state protection. Today more than 8,000 relict gulls are spotted at Kangba Nuoer National Wetland Park in north China's Hebei Province.
