Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaidi, president of the party's Sindh chapter, announced on Saturday that he will quit politics and resign from party positions, joining a long list of leaders jumping ship.

While announcing his departure from politics, Zaidi condemned the May 9 violence that occurred following the arrest of PTI chief Imran Khan.

More than two dozen other PTI leaders have either left their positions or quit the party since Khan's arrest earlier this month.

Pakistan's former Prime Minister Khan was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court, days after the famed cricket star's dramatic arrest over corruption charges sparked an outpouring of anger against the country's military.
