Thirty years ago, Rodney King, an African-American, was savagely beaten by police officers in Los Angeles. Three years ago, another African-American, George Floyd, was pinned down to the ground by a white police officer in Minnesota and died. Both incidents triggered large-scale protests, but to no avail.
