Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his re-election as Turkish president.
China and Türkiye are both major developing countries and emerging markets, and the two countries share broad common interests, Xi noted in his congratulatory message.
Over the years, China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations have maintained the momentum of development, Xi said, adding that practical cooperation in various fields has made positive progress.
Xi said that he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and expressed his willingness to work with Erdogan to understand and support each other on issues concerning their countries' respective core interests and major concerns, aiming to promote the sustained, sound and stable development of China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations.
