China Global Television Network (CGTN) has released a 12-episode documentary podcast series, "Stories of Xi Jinping," documenting Chinese President Xi Jinping's decades of experience working in different localities across China.
The podcast offers a view of how Xi's thoughts on national governance gradually took shape and explains the core principles that have guided Xi's decisions and actions as a national leader.
The podcast includes stories of Xi conducting field research from village to village on a bicycle when he worked in Zhengding County in northern China's Hebei Province.
Listeners can also hear stories of Xi persuading fishermen who lived in fishing boats in southeast China's Fujian Province to move and settle on shore to better shake off poverty.
Moreover, listeners will also learn how Xi encouraged the closure of some quarries and cement factories to protect the environment and put forward the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" in east China's Zhejiang Province.
The series also includes delightful stories and anecdotes about his life and hobbies.
The podcast is the first of its kind in China. Versions in other languages, including French, Russian and Spanish, will also be released soon.
