Authorities at the Jiuquan Launch Center in northwest China's Shaanxi Province have declared the launch of the Shenzhou-16 manned mission a success. This is the debut flight for China's third generation taikonauts alongside Commander Jing Haipeng. Space flight engineer Zhu Yangzhu and payload expert Gui Haichao are first-timers in space. Zhang Fan, associate professor of astronomy at Beijing Normal University, explains each taikonaut's role and responsibility.
