A new international rail freight route has been launched from the city of Baoji in Shaanxi Province with the departure of a train carrying containers loaded with Chinese-made goods to five Central Asian countries. The freight train is loaded with 50 TEUs of goods, including elevators, fabrics, treadmills and laminate floors, worth around $3 million.
The train will pass through China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and then head for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, before continuing to Europe. It is the 20th rail freight route between Baoji and Western Europe.
