Everyone agrees that this is an era of rapid changes and unprecedented uncertainty. And in this scenario, more and more people are welcoming China's growing role as a stabilizer and nurturer of the world economy. Chinese modernization, which is offering a new model of growth, is boosting the call for a new global governance order, one that will be fairer and more just. As more and more countries benefit from the Belt and Road Initiative, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, China has come up with three more new global initiatives. How will they impact China’s evolving relations with the rest of the world? What are the challenges to navigate?
Our guests are Zhang Weiwei, director of the China Institute at Fudan University; Michele Geraci, former undersecretary of state at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development; John Milligan-Whyte, chairman of the Center for America-China Partnership; Martin Jacques, former senior fellow at the Department of Politics and International Studies at Cambridge University; Nabil Fahmy, former foreign minister of Egypt; and Dipankar Banerjee, retired Indian Army major general and ex-director of the Institute of Peace & Conflict Studies. They will share their views on China's approach. Stay tuned at 19:00 on May 31 on CGTN!
