Syria appoints permanent representative to Arab League

Hossam al-Din Ala was appointed as the permanent representative of Syria to the Arab League and head of the Syrian diplomatic mission in Cairo, according to local newspaper Al-Watan.
Earlier in May, the Arab League restored Syria's membership to the league after 12 years of suspension.
