At least six people were killed and two others injured in an explosion in Kot Addu district of Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab, police officials said on Thursday.
The explosion took place when members of the same family were busy sorting out scrap and other waste material inside their house in the Daira Din Panah area of the district, Mujahid Hussain, deputy superintendent of police of the district, told Xinhua, adding that women and children are among the victims.
He said that the cause and nature of the blast are being determined by law enforcement agencies.
