Haruo Ono is a fisherman, born and bred in Fukushima. Twelve years ago, he lost his livelihood after the magnitude-9 earthquake and tsunami that struck off Japan's northeastern coast. Eventually, in the first half of 2012, limited fishing was permitted on a trial basis off Fukushima. Now, Ono is about to lose his livelihood once again after the Japanese government decided that the contaminated wastewater from the nuclear plant, after a filtering and diluting process, will be released into the sea.
