Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng on Tuesday met with National Committee on United States–China Relations (NCUSCR) board members.

Former United States Secretary of the Treasury and Chair of the Board of Directors of the NCUSCR Jacob J. Lew, former United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Honorary Chair of the NCUSCR Carla A. Hills, and President of the NCUSCR Steve Orlins attended the event.

Xie Feng praised the longstanding efforts made by the NCUSCR, stressing that a sound and stable China-U.S. relationship is the solid foundation for world peace and prosperity.

The ambassador emphasized that the right way for China and the United States to get along in the new era was to uphold the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.

He said it is hoped that the U.S. side will move in the same direction as China, take concrete actions and explore the right way to get along with each other in the new era. It is important to manage differences and promote cooperation, so as to bring the China-U.S. relationship back on the right track, he added.

Xie highlighted China's domestic and foreign policies and expressed China's willingness to maintain close communication with the different sectors of U.S. society, adding that the countries needed to work together to make the cake bigger for China-U.S. cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples and the rest of the world.
