China on Monday warned NATO to keep their hands off Asia, saying that it won't allow any sort of war, cold or hot, to repeat in Asia.

When asked to comment on the remarks by officials from Indonesia and Singapore at the Shangri-La Dialogue saying that they hate to "choose sides" between China and the United States, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said that "a certain country intends to launch a 'new cold war' in Asia and forces countries in the region to choose sides."

Asian countries share the common wishes of adhering to strategic independence and to preserve regional peace and stability, Wang said at a regular press briefing, slamming Washington's intention to form military blocs in Asia under the disguise of "maintaining peace and prosperity."

The Shangri-La Dialogue, one of Asia's most important security summits, was held from June 2 to 4 in Singapore.
