Confluence of rivers creates two-color scenery in Chongqing
00:44

The water at the junction of two rivers in southwest China's Chongqing City is in sharp contrast, creating a scene that looks just like a two-flavor hot pot. The Yangtze River is in yellow and red, while the Jialing River is in green. Experts explained that this phenomenon often occurs during the summer flood season, mainly because of the difference in sediment content between the two rivers. The upper reaches of the Yangtze River suffered from heavy rainfall, resulting in sediment washing into the river.
